I’m a fan of social networks, I’m on Reddit, and Digg, and Twitter, and Facebook, and others with less name brand recognition. I found this recently on Reddit: “Ordering from Dell?” and want to tell Yan Fortin that you are not the only person who had to wait for their gear to show up.
At one point, I was crazy for UMPCs so much that I purchased the domain UMPCfan.com and wanted to start a forum for the discussion of the UMPC platform, that was before I had problems with my SAMSUNG Q1, which was upgraded to an Q1U when the Q1 decided to go on the blink and spent weeks in and out of the shop. The digitizer developed a hole in its touch response, then I got it back and it wasn’t working still, so I sent it back and they had pinched wires in the case and I didn’t want to void the warranty so it went back, and then ultimately they still didn’t fix it and they upgraded it to a Q1U which worked fine but I was burnt out and sold it, thankfully it was a brand new device.
Since then, I purchased an HP TX2000Z that had a defective SD reader, and off it went to the shop, and only because I bit, scratched, and pull-hair; I got it back just in time to start school again. Of course, it was wiped clean of everything I had on the device. (Glad I backed everything up before sending it.) And that experience, of me going from pleasant to angry on the telephone happened over weeks, until I got a message stating that it would be something like 6 more weeks to replace an SD slot on the latest version of the tablet at the time. Now my power adapter requires a dongle to work because they no longer sell the identical adapter after-market. Nuts.
Yan Fortin writes about how his Dell is sitting in limbo somewhere after ordering a Dell Mini 12, and I have to say that my Dell XPS had to be repaired, and they were very quick. Perhaps they just have a glitch in their supply chain. It happens.
