ArsTechnica.com reports that a Professor at MIT gave a lecture about a new catalyst that can duplicate the photosynthesis process used by plants. This is something I had been thinking about, but obviously do not have the means to make it possible. Along the same lines as using mitochondria as a power source for nanomachines using their internal functions to produce energy that would be directly tapped by the nanomachine, the use of technology merged with nature is a smart move. As we discover how nature works, we slowly gain the ability to integrate its machinations with our creations.
I integrated this into my collaborative storybook world called Aeryth, but have pretty much stopped writing to concentrate on school.
I can’t wait until we have the ability to use green energy production and retain the energy in some storage device, short of capacitors which can overcharge and explode or degrade and explode, or just explode. They are a bit bulky too.
