Based on a CrunchGear article posted by Doug Aamoth, I have to wonder if this AT&T Data Connect plan uses per KB as the metric because it produces acceptance through obfuscation.
If the data plan has a rate of .0195 dollars per kilobyte, you may psychologically walk away going, meh. No big deal. But the world operates in GB, Gigabytes. And that apparently comes to about $20,000 per GB. Ouch. International Ouch.
I remember being in Germany, and I let someone use my phone, and suddenly I had an $800 phone bill even though the rate I had was acceptable for my own use, this person used it for an extended period of time and I paid the price.
Just be sure to comprehend the numbers you are reading about in your contract. When the class action lawsuit suggests that no one could reasonably discern the cost, they are full of bull.
