So, Lenovo drops a good looking netbook, and everyone is jumping on it. From BoingBoingGadgets to SlashGear, Engadget, Gizmodo, CrunchGear and me. I’ll link to an article instead of rehashing what everyone else says. I don’t know who it was to drop it first, but I’ll link to Electronista because I’ve never heard of them until today. I’m sure they haven’t heard of me either. I’ll say one thing though, please change the name. I have been waiting for a device like this for awhile, since the iPaq was first launched some 10 or so years ago. I wanted a full scale processor, capable of running everything in my library short of audio/video editing in real time. I wanted a screen I could write on/touch so that I could take a photo, import it into photoshop, edit it, and send it to a printer immediately. The short-wide screen will require some getting used to though. Scrolling is fun.
Update: Looks like this was indeed an old concept spec build product which won’t ever hit market, apparently 2 years old. I had read a comment about this being even older, but I can’t find the comment. Anyway, SlashGear comments that they found out the real info and it won’t come to market. Still, I think now is the time for such a device.
