When I relocated to Maryland, I decided to shutter my business and return to school. One of my very first classes was a Forensic Biology class. During a class discussion, I asked the professor if there was a way to tap a mitochondria to produce electricity. Since I’m more of an idea person. A person who creates a concept and then investigates it to either produce a good or service. If the research shows a negative result, such as my project to produce LCD screen keyboards, which proved to be too costly for any real consumption, the project is shuttered.
Well, I periodically do searches to see if someone actually has moved on the idea. And today, I run across this gem. I introduce you to US Patent 20080261085, which is a patent application covering a “Biological Battery or Fuel Cell Utilizing Mitochondria.” And was published on October 23, 2008.
I love it when an idea that I couldn’t possibly do without focusing on one thing for 10 years comes to fruition. It validates my particular tack on things. It also allows me to move on to something else, and put the concept on the back burner of all the things that roll around in my head. This blog is also for that reason, a discharge area for creative energy. Some of the ideas I come up with will land here, and never be pursued. At least, not seriously.
