I am in the midst of completing my MBA, and in that is a study of Apple. I’m basically surrounding myself with all things Apple. And during this time, things are changing with respect to Apple product offerings and the range that is being provided. I’ll be a little frustrated only being able to touch lightly on the prospect of an Apple tablet hitting the market since we won’t have any hard facts until January and I complete my MBA in the middle of December. But what has been floating around as rumors is certainly thought provoking. An Apple tablet, which I think will be called the iSlate, is supposed to land in January according to new rumors. Others think iPad will be the name. We won’t know until it lands, but one thing we do know here… I want one. The only bad thing I can see is that it will run the iPhone OS, which doesn’t allow for multiple operations. It is, for the most part, a one hit wonder. You can listen to the iPod or the Phone functions while doing some other application, but that is it. You can’t run multiple applications. And for the phone aspect, it bounces you out of your application altogether. At least, on the iPhone 3G that I have. I’m still cranky about the fact that I purchased the 3G just 32 days before the 3GS dropped and they wouldn’t allow me to switch. Oh well, AT&T won’t get another drop of upgrade money until 2 years from now just because of that. They kept saying that Apple surprised them. Right.
Anyway… I just found out that if you type “demuted” it pulls up the word “Semites” in the autocorrect on my iPhone. Yah, I said “demuted.”
If it has a real processor, I’ll sell my MacBook Pro and get a Tablet. Please, let it have a real processor. Please? PAHLEEEZE?!
Either way… I’m relaunching TabletFan as an Apple tablet fanclub site by next week. Just looking for the right software. Maybe Google WAVE?
