Groklaw has an article about Microsoft patenting a form of “sudo” which has been in public use since linux was created 30 years ago. Software patents are okay with me when the process is non-obvious, but for crying out loud, sudo is used everywhere and anyone who tried to patent it would be well aware of it. Simply coloring a car red doesn’t make it unique.
