I’ve got an iPhone, I use it constantly. If I’m not accessing my stuff, I’m accessing something online. If I’m not doing that, I’m listening to music; playing a game, making a call [that is probably the worst thing... the AT&T network makes me want to scream], but I’ve always got this thing on. I don’t even mind the horrible camera with no flash and horrible low-light capabilities. Even with the gripes that I have about the iPhone… it still destroys the Droid and Android.
Simply put, the marketing of all things Apple overcome everything about the Droid and Android OS. But, give it time, perhaps it can ramp up. The problem is that you simply didn’t see anyone standing in line for 3 days prior to launch, or hundreds standing in line anywhere.
Google has a following, but it isn’t as great as Apple. I like the Droid, to a point; somewhat better screen, flash for the camera [well, I never used a flash], and a keyboard… I don’t like it compared to the iPhone still and the codebase is far inferior and can’t possibly match the iPhone App library anytime soon.
By the time Droid does make it to iPhone status, the iPhone will have gone through at least 3 more iterations.
Good Luck.
