So, I’m watching the Arizona Cardinals, San Francisco 49′ers game and I can not believe the horrible call that was just made. A Cardinals pass to the end zone and the Ref’s called it an incomplete pass even though he was in possession of the ball until he was down. According to the call, if you are contacted while in the air, you have to land while maintaining possession and fend off an arm that is trapped as well.
Growing up in the 70′s and 80′s, and watching movies of games from earlier years, I feel like the game is now about calls instead of playing the game. I think records are being made as to penalties each season. Let the men play the game, stop watering this game down. We all know that there are millions of dollars at stake, but they know its a hard game, they are in it because they love the game and the paycheck is a perk. At least, that is the way it should be. But then again, when I hear about a coach in college ball making $5 million… well, one has to wonder if it isn’t all about money.
If doctors and scientists were as fan supported as sports personalities are, I’d be able to teleport to the moon and I wouldn’t be typing this on a keyboard. I’d be in the matrix.
