One Year, One Guy, 330 Posts, Thousands of Page Views, No Money

by James Hatch on January 5, 2010

Happy Blogaversary to Me! It has been one year of blogging for me as of today. It is fun, but I might have to blog and launch a podcast or two. We’ll see about that.

I started blogging a year ago, part time while I was in school. I completed my AAS, BS, and MBA in 4.5 years., at one point taking 6 classes per semester. I had to catch up on my education.  Now, in 2010, I’m looking for a job and blogging part time. In all this time, I’ve made no money. I simply work on these projects, preparing to launch 100 projects in 1 year. I put up a site, and test the software I want to use, and now I’m doing it. 100 vs 1.

I don’t advertise, which might be the problem with the zero income thing. It also might be due to Google killing the formula that used to show some hits on my Google AdSense. My sites get  thousands of hits, but Google only shows a fraction. Now sure what is up with that. At one point last year, half way through May, Google purged my links from its search, including its own Blogger hosted ads and blogs. It was strange. But it happened.

That made me move to my own host, and I dedicated myself to learning all about WordPress, and become [nearly] the master of my own domain. I have to rely on hosts still. Oh, speaking of domains, I have over 100 domains, each with products, services, or both. I’ll continue to develop the sites and gather more domains for more projects that show promise.

I’m off to work on another project launch. If you stumble across this post and care to assist in coding [I'm not a programmer], feel free to contact me. If you just want to chat, we can do that too.
