So, a few topics are in this post. First… I’m reorganizing the blog. I used to have a bunch of categories, they are going away. I also made this blog the primary location for my goings on with projects until they become a business at which time they’ll move to HATCHideas.com and HATCHideas.net. Who knows when that will happen. I’m also reorganizing paperwork. Then at the end, I’ll post a review for a local restaurant. I know, all over the place, but it has been awhile since I posted to this blog.
I periodically go through fits of reorganization. Sometimes you get used to things being the way they are, and you just let things blend into the background. My electronic keyboard (Piano) is sitting in the corner of my office acting more as a table than a musical instrument. It has been since I broke my hand on Christmas Eve, 2009. Yep. X-Mas eve, I’m shoveling snow and slip. I landed with the handle between my body and the ground. I thought I was okay. My hand was tangled up in the mess and I haven’t gone back to learning the Piano since. I really should. I love the piano, but I’m horrible at it.
Anyway, I’m reorganizing my office for the new school year. I was just about to angle my desk a different way, but realized that the way I want it, would trap me in the corner and I’d have to climb over my desk to get in and out. I want a new desk, these mass made desks don’t feel right. I want a nice solid oak desk with a nice finish but I also don’t want to try and bring up to the third floor via stairs.
Since it is a new school year, I like to organize the old year out of the way. That means filing, and I need boxes. I do this for old bills too. The same time, each year. Get everything that has been “filed” into a pile somewhere, and sort…sort…sort and shred anything that has an account name, is older than 7 years. I never thought I’d be that kind of person, but you really have to. We recently found out that someone had stolen credit card numbers and forged full cards with magnetic swipe. It was pretty interesting. I mapped out the persons travels around NY as they purchased items. I had my identity stolen once before, when I was around 20 year old, I found out someone in Texas had stolen my identity. Back before ID Theft was trendy. It all has been settled. We think.
I’m still writing periodically for my tech talk blog on the Frederick News Post. It isn’t paid, and I hardly write there. I’m trying to bolster some community discussion, but the blogging/discussion system there isn’t that user friendly. The interface and posting system is very mundane. I was going to find out if they would be interested in having me set up a blog system there. I don’t know how innovative they are.
