Sorry I haven’t been writing much on any of my blogs. I have nearly 100 online, most are true blogs with commentary about the niche that the blog fills. I don’t sell advertisements, and they hardly get traffic, but I am constantly updating the infrastructure.

At any given day, there are 1-5 plugins that need to be updated, and then there is the WordPress install itself that occasionally needs to be patched. Now, extrapolate that across 100 blogs/sites and you get a time sink. I need a solution, but the solution that I’ve found is a service that has to be subscribed to, and information passed to which gives it access to do this gross update/management process. Quite the security issue, quite a headache to set up. A time sink in and of itself. I wouldn’t mind a switch that automatically patches the site. I’m interested in creating a Netcast/WebCast/Podcast/StreamCast… whatever you want to call it. Podcast implies it is only available to the i-series of devices, which wouldn’t be true. We need a generic term. I like Netcast because it implies the Internet is the source, not Apple. I currently have about 500 episodes planned (topics, nothing written yet). I think people will love it, but I don’t like doing things alone. So, I’m looking for interested parties that are close by, and that I can get along with. They also have to be technically savvy enough to record audio at least, video and audio separately and synced would be great.

Anyway, with school underway, I have less time to entertain the sites. I’d love to have partners to run each site and split the future value of the site 50/50. But that requires the creation of a corporation with each of the individuals, or at least an LLC. Both require a bit of money I currently feed directly to the child, his college fun, clothes, etc. So, the person needs to be interested in fledgling sites and find the idea and the site name worthy of working on. Not likely since you can buy a random domain name, and end up being talked about. School is a good place to meet people who are interested in these types of projects, and it is the type of thing I’m interested in teaching as a Professor in a college environment [Entrepreneurship + Strategy + Ethics + Technology = Business Opportunity]. Right now, I’ve switched from researching SCADA, I told my advisors it would be impossible to defend unless it is tested in a real world environment. Nearly 4 months later, he told me the same thing. But in the mean time, I had switched to researching personality profiling. Something I’ve always been interested in, but never researched. It plays well with my MBA and works with my MSIT coursework. I’ll be working on that as long as forward movement is possible. What does that mean? As long as the research shows some result, pro or con and has applicability to the evolution of profiling research… I’ll be working on it. Read “The Numerati” if you are interested in this.

And Baby makes Three… We’ve been working on getting him to shuffle across his little learning blanket and play-yard. He currently can lean on me and straighten his legs, which makes him look like he’s standing up and leaning on a table. We’re telling him stories, and saying the alphabet, counting numbers and relating them all to real world physical objects. So when you say “Orange” you show an Orange, or the color orange. Say “Finger” and show him a finger [either his own, or one of ours]. And he rolls over from his tummy to his back, and from his back to his side. He’s not willing to roll over onto his tummy from his back. He’s smiling all the time now too and following movement steadily. For a two or so weeks he’s been holding his head up with only an occasional loss of control. The only thing we don’t feel we have a handle on is sleep. One day he’ll sleep through the night, but the next, none of us will. Max now has a Twitter account, he’s on Facebook, he’s on About.me and has his own domain. If the Internet is still around in the future, he’ll have traction.

More to come as it develops…
